The J-Talk Podcast - J1 Matchday 31 & Oman v Japan

In our second episode of the week I was pleased to welcome Scott McIntyre of SBS and theworldgame.com.au back to the podcast for this 62 minute blockbuster.


We opened the episode with a chat about Scott's jaunt across the Middle East and the Gulf, and the remainder of Part 1 features a full rundown on J1 Matchday 31, including the situation in Kobe after the shock sacking of Akira Nishino. Part 2 previews Japan's World Cup qualifier in Oman next Wednesday and we check on the situation in both Asian qualifying groups, before finishing with some Emperor's Cup and J2 news.

Part 1 runs to 41:00: Scott's trip (to 5:00), Akira Nishino and the mess in Kobe (11:30), the top two (18:30), the ACL battle and Scott's Nabisco Cup rant (30:30), the relegation dogfight and a final check on the table (37:50) and a look ahead to Matchday 32 on the 17th of November (41:00).

Part 2 runs to end - 62:13: The situation in Group B of Asian qualifying and a check on Japan's squad (to 44:30), Scott fills us in on Oman - including players to watch (52:45), and we talk briefly about Group A (56:00).
Part 2 wraps up with the 4th round draw in the Emperor's Cup and the key fixtures in the final game of the season in J2.
