The J-Talk Podcast - Olympics Special

We certainly live up to our motto as 'covering all aspects of Japanese football' this week, as I was joined by Dave Phillips, who many of you know as the man behind the jleague.co.uk blog and as @lovefutebol on twitter, for a bumper double episode on the Olympics, Shinji Kagawa at Manchester United and the weekend's J.League action.

First I present Part 1, discussing Nadeshiko Japan and the mens Under 23s, as Dave and I review their first two group stage games and look ahead to the last games in the groups tonight (for the women) and tomorrow (for the men).

Part 1 runs just over 42 minutes in five rough sections:
  • An introduction to how Dave became interested in Japanese football (to 7:00)
  • A review of Nadeshiko Japan's win over Canada and draw with Sweden, also looking ahead to the final group game against South Africa (to 15:10)
  • A look back at the Under 23s famous win over Spain (to 26:17)
  • A review of Japan 1-0 Morocco (to 36:53)
  • And a look ahead to the clash with Honduras (to end - 42:19)

Listen on the player above, or download the mp3 by clicking on the J-Talk logo on the left. This will available on iTunes later today.

Part 2 will likely be available from tomorrow (Wednesday).
